I understand that there are only 2 official Forma templates released and that appearance must be changed by modifying copies of the templates.
So I have 2 questions:
(a) Are there any third-party templates available?
(b) Will Forma 2.0 enable making appearance changes through the system interface?
Thanks a lot
Forma comes with 2 templates, one is the standard one and the other has been kept for legacy reasons, for those who upgrade from Docebo405. You can either change the standard template or copy it and modify the copied one.
Logos and images are fairly simple to edit, you can change it in 30 seconds. Colors and CSS of course need some more time, you have to edit color codes across different .css files.
Here's your answers:
a) no, until now everybody has simply modified its installation and kept it to himself. We've seen dozens of different solutions
b) yes, Forma 2 will have a plugin called Templedit, through which you'll be able to change logos+image+favicon and make bulk CSS changes via the interface.
What you can edit, either by hand or with the "templedit" plugin, is:
- logo, cover image, favicon
- css => you can change the colors in the header, footer, menus, buttons, etc.
If we are speaking about the content of the menus, there is no need to change the template: you can change the macro-sections and the specific menu items via the interface, through the "manage menu" function.
As far as the appearance of the menu is concerned, this is another story:
icons => Forma comes with its own set of icons. If you want to change them, you can just replace the set with a different one, provided the file names and the sizes stay the same.
Let me know if now it's clearer and if you want to know something more.
Just as an interesting followup (and I asked the question in answer to a very old post that perhaps no one will read), I was interested in changing the general appearance of forma by using wordpress as a frontend. There is a docebo plugin that I have installed but it requires apa information that I do not know where to find or how to generate. Can you give me some guidance there? Will the forma builtin ecommerce still work or will it require a shopping cart on the WP end?
All the best and thanks as ever.
Some random answers:mlapl1 wrote:Thanks Max. That is helpful. One of the issues is that I find the interface presented to the user to be too "technical" and, in a sense, too detailed, especially for younger users and "naive" users. I work in education not industry. I will experiment more with the "menu" and spend more time reading the information etc.

Forma comes with all the default menu items activated, in my opinion you can turn off 90% of them
Whatever you put ahead of Forma (like with any LMS out there) will mainly be useful for what is displayed before the login. After logging in, it depends on how you configure the LMS itself. Unless you really do a lot of manual coding to hide what you do not want.
So, concerning the old thread about the WP/docebo plugin: unless you do some coding yourself, you are better off waiting for WP or WooCommerce or Prestashop plugins to be available.
For WP or WooCommerce/Forma plugin you can ask http://www.joint-tech.it/. For Prestashop/Forma you can ask https://www.purplenetwork.it/
I have managed to make quite a lot of changes to appearance and menus - still have some concerns (I looked at the docebo manual but with no success).
(a) I have created some menus of my own. How do I make them visible?
(b) I have created some web pages through the "content" area. How do I make them visible?
Thanks for any suggestions
