Learning plans

Post by Graeme59 »

Delighted to find this great LMS.
In the Roadmap is there room for the inclusion of learning plans with an associated report? Find them really useful for for pre-allocation of multiple modules to branches rather than duplicating scorm modules with prerequisites.
keep up the good work!

Hi Graeme, welcome on board! We're happy you're delighted with Forma Lms.

I don't understand exactly what you're trying to achieve, but let me just give you some suggestions about what is already there:

- Currently, Forma has something called "Learning paths". It's a set of courses, tied together by prerequisites between the courses
- if you want a report for the whole path, just select all the courses it includes when you create a report
- Tests have something called "feedback management", where you can decide that your user is automatically enrolled to course B if he scores XX and to course C if he scores YY
- .... many other features...

Can you elaborate a little more on what you are looking for?

Hi Max,
I can't find any reference to a "learning path" in the LMS or am I being thick? I have found that I can create a course, then add multiple learning objects to that course then set an order for completion by setting prerequisites is this what you are refer to as the "learning path"? This works fine but means learning objects have to duplicated not a problem I can continue setting up with this method.
Cheers

Hi Graeme, my fault
I didn't remember how it's called in the English translation. It's called "curricula", you find them under Administration>elearning>elearning>curricula

What you described is in fact setting prerequisites between objects within the same course.
Curricula is prerequisites among different courses: i.e. you complete course 1 then proceed to course 2, 3 and 4.

If you want to use that, you also have to turn the "Curricula" tab on, if not nobody will see the curricula.

Users also have to be assigned to curricula, not enrolled to the single courses.

As you can see, it's a little bit complex using this method, it's not so easy providing what actually is a consulting activity on a training project through a forum...
