Competency Scoring Question

Hi everyone.
I hope you are well.
I am having some difficulty with competency scoring and was hoping someone could help, here is what i have done:
1) I have created competencies
2) I have created a Company Role
3) I have linked the role to an org structure node, and the competencies (minimum score requirement is 100 for each)
4) I have created a course shell and linked the course to the competency from course management
5) I have created an assessment with a pass mark of 100 points.
6) I have set the feedback manager to assign 100 points for a competency, if the user attains 100 points for the assessment (from 100 to 100 give 100 for said competence).
However, when I complete the assessment as the student, it gives me 200 (sometimes 300) points.
Am I doing something wrong?
