Forma File Browser: You can't access

Post by marius »

Good day

I'm running running Forma V2.4.5 - upgraded from V2.3. Since the upgrade, the normal course admin and instructors are not able to edit/upload any media files. I've checked all standard permissions within the System Configuration but can not find anything.

When a course admin or instructor wants to upload a media file he receives the following error in the File Browser popup:

Forma File Browser
You can't access

The system admin user can however still add, edit media files.

I think the reason is that file browser plugin is located under appCore folder, that is not accessible to non admin users.
I mean ADMIN_GROUP_GODADMIN or ADMIN_GROUP_ADMIN, not course level admins.
I agree that file browser should be hosted in addons where tinymce is.
Thanks for the hint ;)

I'll be testing an upgrade from V2.4.5 to V3.1 over the weekend to see if the same issue exists. Is there a workaround in the mean time for my instructors / admins? I do not want to give them super-admin rights...

There's no workaround.
Just fix the code.

I think the issue had been fixed a long time ago, I guess at least in 3.0

Anyway, with every release we include a description of the bugfixes. So, for this bug or for other bugs, it might make sense to take a look at the release notes.
