Exceeded available time
We have recently upload a new course and a couple of staff users have received this message in the first module after watching it several times, "You have already exceeded available time for viewing this content." The modules are set with no time limitations. All of the other modules are working without issues. Any suggestions?
Re: Exceeded available time
Hi, welcome on board!
Sincerely, I never read this specific message.
What version do you have? Docebo OS 405, or a different one?
What kind of a Learning Object is it? A scorm object?
Anyway, let's try to check the possible settings affecting "time" in the LMS:
In the course settings (administration area), as you know, you can set an expiration date or a Mb limit. This applies to the whole course, not to a single module.
If we switch to the teacher area in front end>learning object management, you can set some properties for the single LO
Publish from date XX to date YY
View it until completed, one time only or an infinite number of times
If it's not one of these settings, it means that it's not related to the Lms but rather to the object. Does the message display directly inside the object? Or somewhere in the Lms?
If it's a scorm, a time limit (or more likely a number of attempts) can be set TO THE OBJECT. I should also know if you produced it yourself or if you bought it from some vendor.
Let me know: I tried to discuss all the possible issues, but it's better if you let me know the answers to the above questions first, so that I can identify the problem you are running into.

Re: Exceeded available time
Thank you for responding so quickly. We have DoceboLMS 4.X. The software was developed in-house. It was set up in SCORM. The message appears once the module is activated by the user.
Re: Exceeded available time
Could you post a screenshot of the message, so I can better understand?
You can use the "complete html editor" to upload the image, it has a file attachment feature.
Also, could you tell me with what authoring software the scorm module has been developed? And check with your staff if some "time" or "attempt" setting has been implemented into it? I'm familiar with some authoring tools, but not with all of them...
This way I can dig deeper into your issue

Re: Exceeded available time
I have uploaded a jpg of the message. We are using ispring as our authoring software. I've spoken with our staff and there are no time limitations set on this software.

Re: Exceeded available time
Thank you, now it's clearer. It seems a message generated by the server, rather than by the Lms. However, it might also be co-caused by the ispring scorm object.
iSpring has some known issues with Docebo: at times, we noticed that launching some iSpring LO's causes a lot of javascript errors. It might be, but this is just a guess, that after many and many JS errors the server "gives up".
I'll share this thread with my tech colleagues.
In the meanwhile, can you tell me if there are differences between this LO and the other ones that are working properly? Have they also been created with iSpring? Maybe they've been published with different publishing options?

Re: Exceeded available time
The message that you posted:
Are you sure that is not part of the iSpring JS ?
is not a standard Docebo CE 4.0.5 error message .You have already exceeded available time for viewing this content

Re: Exceeded available time
Thank you Claudio, so you confirm me that it doesn't have to do with the Lms. Then, it's either iSpring or the server, I'd say.
