Gradebook Level

How can I set the gradebook to default to level "student" instead of "all"?

In screen shot - deafult is "All" for us, I want it to default to "learner"

How do do so? can it be in MySQL?

if you want to do that you have to do some coding, of course. That item is a "select" and it indicates "all" as the default. If you're familiar with php coding I suppose you can change that behaviour easily.
