assign role and permissions to users

I am new of FormaLms. Please suggest me how to define the roles and permissions to the user in admin. Can I do that functionality on frontend. Please suggest and guide me ]

Please let me know how I can user as parent, teacher on frontend and how define the role to user throught frontend without using admin
